Richard Chess
Richard B. "Rick" Chess is the President of American Realty Capital Markets, LLC (ARCM). ARCM is the "broker's broker" for three broker dealers representing over 2,500 registered representatives and providing these firms with due diligence, training and sales support for ¤1031 tenant-in-common (TIC) securities
Chess is also the Managing Partner of Chess Law Firm, PLC, a practice focused on real estate, capital formation and governance. He is also a national speaker regarding acquisitions, due diligence, ¤1031 like-kind exchanges, tenant-in-common structures, REIT structures, and local/state government relations.
He has worked in the TIC industry for Triple Net Properties and Hirschler Fleischer. He has also worked for United Dominion Realty Trust (UDR), where he acquired over $2 billion in apartments and retail centers, ManEquity (Manufacturers Life), where he was the senior analyst for real estate syndication, and C. B. Richard Ellis, where he was a broker.
Chess served as a member of the Pennsylvania General Assembly, as an assistant county solicitor for Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) and was the staff director of the Local Government Attorneys of Virginia. Chess earned his B.S. degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his J.D. degree from the University of Richmond.
